I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday. I decided to cut my blog posts to maybe a few times a week vs. every day. I run out of things to say other than, I am losing weigh and I still feel full on belviq haha! I hope you are all ok with that.
Friday would be my normal weigh in but I am actually taking a vacation day because I am volunteering to photo document and maybe help out at camp home where CAMDEN Properties are finishing up two homes for disabled vets. So, I'll push my weigh in out a week.
If you are still considering weight loss options, seriously think of Belviq. For more information go to www.belviq.com!!
I'll do a post later this week to let you know how my week went!

My dreams are in sight with Belviq
Happy Thursday everyone!
So, I had a guy that is following my progress ask me, "do you have any goals (other than the weight loss) that you are trying to reach, like do certain activities or wear a certain clothing item?" He was suggesting that it would be totally awesome to see what it is that I would like to achieve eventually so that when that time comes and I do make those goals, everyone can celebrate with me by seeing photos etc.
I have a lot of goals. There are certains things I would love to do. But, I am a girl and I LOVE clothes! At the end of the day, there are two dresses I totally want to wear.
Today, I wore my "skinny" jeans and I got so many compliments. It feels great to know that my hard work is FINALLY starting to show.
Belviq is truly my miracle RX. It helped me fix the problem that was causing me so much trouble with eating and I am pumped up every day!
Have a wonderful Thursday!

DRESS #1
This dress is a Michael Kor's dress that one of my long time friends, Terah Aultman has hanging in her closet waiting for me. She told me, when I can fit in this dress, I can have it. Of course, I LOVE Michael Kors AND I love BLING - this is a sequensed (sp?) dress and I can't wait to wear it!DRESS #2
This cute little dress I got on clearance for $3!! The reason was because it was not marked with the appropriate size and they were bringing in fall clothes. I can't wait to wear this dress withi some cute cowboy boots! My goal si to be in this little number by spring!! Today, I wore my "skinny" jeans and I got so many compliments. It feels great to know that my hard work is FINALLY starting to show.

Belviq Pricing Perspective
I just want to say THANK YOU to those that donated to help me get my Belviq this month. I just picked up my RX. I can't belive I am starting month 3. Two and a half months in and I am so just as motivated as I was the day I started!
The other day, I was at a luncheon for a seminar for work. I met this lady and, naturally, Belviq came up (by me) at our table of 10. I am not exactly sure how it came up but I took advantage of the conversation. One asked if it was covered by insurance. I said, "Not all carriers are covering it right now" and went into the 15 day free trian and the $75 off monthly coupon for 12 months. I said, "At the end of the day, it's about $160 per month for me which is normaly way out of my budget right now". Then the one girl popped up and said, "That's not bad when I think about how much I spent doing those stupid weight loss programs"
So, this weekend, I was visiting with a friend. She's using a weightloss supplement that her sister sells. I was talking about how much it is and she as well said, "That's really about what I am paying per month for the xyz method." So, in retrospect, Belviq (without insurance) is about what the average person is paying on the street for alternative, non MD supervised weightloss program.
That put alot into perspective about the cost of Belviq. Although I personally could not afford to do one of those other methods, there are many more that can!
I've had a few followers that were not able to continue with Belviq due to side effects. Everyone's body is different, but overall, Belviq is working miracles for MANY, MANY more people I think that is why you should definitely take advantage of the 15 day free trial. Go to www.belviq.com to learn more about it and see if it is right for you.
Have a great Wednesday!

Post Labor Day Funk but no Junk...
Good Afternoon Everyone. I hope you had a fabulous Labor Day. I was busy but it was all good. I was out and about and I can truly say that I did not cheat or snack on JUNK the entire weekend. Really - zero desire to be honest. There was even cake - and if you listened to my radio interview, you will remember I LOVE sweets and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE cake!! It looked good, but I had zero interest in it. YAY! Belivq, you are my hero! ha! Today I go pick up my September RX for Belviq. Thanks to everyone who has helped (even if it is only a dollar), I am only having to pay about $25 dollars for this month. It REALLY helps. So THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Without the google ads, I will just take it month by month. I think October will be a better month for me as well as I have a couple things I am trying to pay off to help with the cost of the medicine. Every day it's like I get to wear something new - not because it is new, but because I have so many clothes that I couldn't fit in to just sitting in my spare closet. I can lose another 50 pounds and still be ok in terms of clothes. I can't afford to buy all new clothes right now anyway, so it's a good thing I have that closet haha!!!! My goal is that next spring I will hopefully be able to go splurge (after tax refund of course ha). EXCITED. For those of you who are taking Belviq or who are considering Belviq. You MUST remember, Diet and exercise are IMPORTANT. If you are not willing to change your eating habits, it's not going to work. I've been talking to a few that got frustrated because it wasn't working for them like it is me. I ask them to tell me about their meal plans - they are eating the same things, just in smaller portions! NO! That's not how it works!!! You MUST MUST MUST change your diet in addition to cutting portions to really make this work. You HAVE to work. Belviq won't do it all on it's own!!! Have a great day! Ellie

10 week weigh in! Did I meet my goal?
Hello Everyone,
Today was the day - I met with my peeps at the doctors office bright and early for my weigh in. Unfortunately, my friend Karen had to run out to take her son to school. Something about not being late ha! So, Sammy stepped in to run the scale and of course Tammy is holding the phone to video. So thanks to them for being helpful as always.
I have to say - go look at the first weigh in video and compare it to this one: http://www.belviqdaily.blogspot.com/p/video-weigh-in.html - can you not see the difference? I was taken back and TOTALLY excited. Other in my face, I can totally see the difference. The only thing I seemed to have that double chin but it was the way I was leaning back and had my head titled ha! Hey, I was trying to see. I need reading glasses LOL.
Anyway, 31 pounds down - I met my goal. I am as happy as can be!! I really thought I was pushing it to hit 30, but 31 - WOW. My scale at home is exactly 3 pounds off from my doctors office scale. I am going to maybe do my weigh in video monthly but probably start reportuing a weekly unofficial weigh in from home just to keep the momentum going!!
This is a holiday weekend. That means I will be taking a holiday! NO POSTING ha! I deserve the break right?
Oh, and.....#Belviq ROCKS!

Anticipation of the weigh in
Tomorrow is my official weigh in at the doctors office. Of course I will record it. but, let me ask you this, how many pounds so far do you think I have lost? Put your answer over here at the poll ----> on the right. It'll be fun to see what everyone is thining.
I've been getting the hiccups lately - kind of funny and at odd times. I think it's my tummy adjusting ha.
I am enjoying wearing all of my clothes that I haven't been able to wear in so long. I feel like I have a new wardrobe. I think I will be going through my closet and doing some organizing. I am tossing out the old BIG clothes that don't have any flattering effect (well, donating them) and pull the smaller clothes from the spare closet that I haven't worn. I am excited!!!!
I am still not showing any reduction in the boobies or my lower abdomen below at the belly button. I guess it's time to do crunches or something. I notice more so in my mid abdominal area and my face (and butt).
There are so many people who tweet and post about how "EASY it is to lose weight - with diet and exercise anyone can do it. That is just so far from the truth. I've tried and for people in my situation, that alone fails. Belviq is truly the only thing that has helped me. So, if you are reading my blog and you think I should "try this" or "try that" to lose weight, don't bother, I will delete your suggestion. I am 100% a Belviq Believer and unless it's a dietary/nutritional suggestion - I am NOT interested.
Thanks so much for all of your support. Get ready for tomorrow- It will be a great day!!!!!

Sneak peek.......
Good Tuesday Morning,
I had to share this photo with you all today. The top I am wearing I have not been able to really wear comfortably since about 2008. It was always too tight. So today I put it on and it fits so perfect. The pants I am wearing I could not buckle. I always wore them and just not buckled them haha!! I'm about to retire the britches.......the 2nd photo will show why ha!!
I should have "sucked it in" for this picture!! I need to learn to do that! I am starting to have an issue with a little flabby skin in the tummy that's not going away!! GRRRRR.
And there she is - not that you wanted to see my butt, but theres my baggy britches!!!!! I have no butt (Well, I have a LOT of butt, however, it seems that I am loosing in my booty the most!!!!
I weighed on my home scale this morning. I know it's about 3 or 4 pounds off (to the higher) than my doctors office, but, I am confident that I have lost at least 2 additional pounds which is my goal for this week. I am feeling hopeful it will be more. SOOOOOO excited!!!!!

How Ellie got her groove back!
Hello everyone. HAPPY MONDAY!!
I have to say, I am OFFICIALLY over the hump that lead to a crappy 3 weeks. I had a lot of suggestions for alternative methods for the water retention method. I am drinking Dandeloin Root Tea - I have to say - I LOVE IT. I am HAPPY. I want to thank user binarybit1 on investorvillage.com for the suggestion.
Also, my abdomen doesn't seem to be so imflammed from my liver/digestive issue I was having. FINALLY. I blew up like a balloon even though I didn't gain weight. It was so frustrating. (I probably lost weight ha). I knew I had results, but I looked horrible.
I have more energy again. I have been feeling so lathargic over those weeks and this weekend I felt like I was getting my groove back. I was able to get some things done I have put off because of stamina.
Let this week ROCK and ROLL! I can't wait until Friday - I woner where I will be. I HOPE to lose 2 pounds. I know, small number but remember what I just came from and you will understand. I already have my doctors office and my bff Karen Mann ready for Friday morning for the official weigh in. It will be my 10 week weigh in.
I am still keeping my goal of 50 pounds by October 25th where it will be my 25th high school reuinion. Now you all remember I was not the liked kid in school. I had very few friends. I have come a long way and so has my classmates. I have befriended many over the years. One specifically was the homecoming queen and fellow classmate, Ashley Martin. She is the SWEETEST girl ever. But, I had to tell her, I was coming to reclaim that crown because it belonged to me!! By the way, I ADORE ADORE ADORE her mom, Mrs. Zellers. Her mom was one of my most FAVORE teachers ever - and that says alot because I didn't ever speak highly of too many of the educators there. Oh, there are a handful I love and they all know who they are.
So, I have a poll set up - Go answer it - I wanna know what you think?????
GET READY FOR FRIDAY WEIGH IN!!!!

BELVIQ ROCKS!
I hope everyone is doing great. NO WEIGH IN today - sorry - I woke up late and had to run to the office. I PROMISE NEXT Week. I do think I lost at least 1 pound judging from my scale at home (which is about 3 pounds off from the scale at my doctors off). If that is the case, I AM ESTATIC because of all I had to endure over the last 2 weeks. It was awful! I am honestly shocked that I did not GAIN any weight. BELVIQ ROCKS!!!!!
I got a lot of responses on natural alternatives to water retention issues I am having due to Liver issues. One of the suggestions was Dandelion Root Tea. I bought some and had my first glass today. I have to say, I actually really liked it better than standard tea. I am sold!!! I also got an herbal supplement that should help in that area as well. I am now taking 7 differnt supplements and vitamins. I am hoping this will kick my issues and I cam move on with my life.
I want to thank you all for being patient with me over these last 2 weeks. I have missed some posting days. I will try to do better this week. I won't be posting over the weekend. I need to get my but to the gym again! HA!
I did some grocery shopping yesterday. I can finally get back to eating my roughage (ha) and get away from the blands. That alone makes me really really happy. I feel like this next week, I am going to have some results so lets keep on the look out.
Right now as it stands, I am 25 pounds, possibly 26 pounds down. Next week will tell the tale!! Fingers crossed and prayers appreciated.
UPDATE on adsense. I was denied appeal. So I am looking at other options (That one of the things I am doing this weekend). GOOGLE SUCKS. They supposedly have this high tech stuff in place to reject those repetitive clicks. So, why not just do that vs. penalizing me because I can't control what they do. At the end of the day, they were SUPPOSED to pay me $185.00 for July FINALIZED earnings (which it would have been more but they supposedly found those clicks) but because they suspended the account BEFORE payment, it's forfieted. THAT HURT. I was counting on that for October Belviq. Thanks to donations, I have September coverd. Stupid GOOGLE. It's ok, I will FIND a way - trust me. My weight loss is far more important to me especially with this recent health scare!!!
Thanks so much for all of your words of encouragement. I read all of them and try to respond to all!!!

water retention
Happy Hump Day!
I've been retaining water something fierce. I have been given a diuretic in the past, but my problem is that I can't take it every day becasue of the side effects. But if I don't take it, I can gain as much as 8 pounds over night. So, I am trying to take it every 3 days or so. It's so frustrating. I did some research and the liver issues I have more commonly is connected with water retention. So, at least the mystery is solved as to why. Last night when I stepped on my scale (which is about 3 or 4 pounds off from my doctors office), It appeared that I had gained 8 pounds. I was MAD. Because of feeling so creapy the last 2 weeks, I stopped taking the diurectic completely. I decided to take one last night and I lost almost all of it over night LOL. So that told me that I had definiately am having serious issues with water retenion.
Do you have issues as well? If so, do you have a more natural remedy that you find is helpful to maintain? Any feedback would be great!
I am still planning on weighing in officially on Friday but I don't expect any weight loss, but I don't expect weight gain. These last 2 weeks have been trying on me, but I am staying on the healthy diet - I'm just in maintenance mode until I am 100%. Every day I feel better and better and I am hoping by Friday I will be able to kick back into high gear. But, I will still record so everyone can see!!
It's good to put it out there. What's even more impressive to me is, even felling as creapy as I did and not able to do a lot, I still maintained with Belviq. Normally without Belviq, when I feel creapy, I eat creapy and gain wait! So, I keep telling myself that although I am derailed a bit, I am still doing MUCH better with Belviq!
Thank you all for the support!

the diagnosis is in......
I know many have been wondering what's going on with the health this last week. Until I got a firm answer from the physician, I wanted to wait to talk about what's up.
About 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with a liver hemangioma. It's usually something that is not a bother or to be treated - just a benign tumor like thing made up of blood vessles, etc. But the problem is, where "henry" (as I have called it for years) is located. It sometimes causes flare ups with my entire digestive system.
This time, the fare up landed me in the ER about 2 weeks ago. It was nothing I experienced before in terms of pain and over all feeling creapy. I went to see my specialist who ordered a cat scan just to be sure. Although those results are not back (I had it on Friday), the other tests done (ultrasound, etc) did show that I have a fatty liver. It's the non-alcoholic fatty liver. I am not surprised by the years of eating crap and I have had high cholestoral for at least 3 years. My doctor said that just with what was reported with the ultrasound, she felt like that alone would have caused my symptoms. The other thing that is complicating all of this more is my weight loss. I've lost a lot of weight in a short time. So, that again by itself could cause the flare up.
Mix all three together, I was a mess. The good news is, I am feeling almost 100 percent and I feel that I can get back on track. I had a week derailment and fortunately, it's not Belviq related. With the blessing of my physician, I can get back on track and go strong.
I probably will have continued flare ups here and there - it's to be expected. I just need to manage it better and not let myself get to the point I did. I'm not very good at taking care of myself so this was a big lesson in "listen to your body".
The doctor still wants to do an endoscope (and we did have it scheduled but I cancelled at the last minute because I live alone with no family in Houston and could not figure out arrangements to get me there and home). I will see how it goes first and then reschedule if need be.
Thank you all for your kind words and prayers.

Tough Week
Hello everyone,
It's been a tough, tough week. I hadn't felt well most of the week and had some tests done (Again, unrelated to Belviq). I'm retaining a lot of water which is frustrating. Hopefully we will have answers soon. Meanwhile I am starting to feel much better.
I've had to go off of what I call "roughage" for a few days - I had to go to a more soft, bland diet. Unfortunately, there's not much health options in that area. But, I managed very well.
Tomorrow I will be going to the beach with my best friend and just hanging out. It's her birthday and I need a little R&R time so I am pretty excited. Sunday I plan on just resting some more.
Hopefully by Monday I will be back full force on my diet again. I will do a weigh in at some point next week and post it.
As with any and all diets, there are always road bumps. This time, it was my health. Something that I've had for about 5 years decided to act up. Now that it's quieting down, I am hopefully good to get back on track!!!
Thanks for being supportive. I've missed hearing from everyone. Only goes up from here right???
Have a great weekend!!

Google and No weigh in tomorrow
I know everyone was looking forward to the big 8 week weigh in. I am not going to be able to go weigh in at the doctors office. A few things have happened this week. The first thing is I had an unrelated health issue occur that I am dealing with through an internist (pre Belviq condition I've had for 4 years) and when I get these flare ups, I get kind of sickly. So today was just a follow up CT scan, but I would out of the office for 3 hours. So tomorrow, I can't take off to go over to get the weigh in done. I will do it early next week for everyone. Meanwhile I'm laying low just to get my bounce back!!
Also, I wanted to report that my Google AdSense was disabled which has me highly upset. They won't disclose what happened other than "invalid activity". After reading the top 10 list of invalid activities from Google, the only one that remotely is a possiblity would be someone somewhere set their computer up to click multiple times over and over and over. Other than that, I don't know what happened. I didn't solicit anyone to click on my ads or anything. It really upsets me because I had due about $150 for July for finalized earnings. According to Google, once they disable me, I don't get those earnings as they are forfieted....even finalized ones.
I filed an appeal but I don't know how much good that would do me. So, if in the chance they do allow me to post them again, PLEASE only click if you are interested in the product and PLEASE do NOT click more than once.
Uggghhhh - my cheerleading outfit has been soaking in the washer and is now hanging out to dry! That's how I feel lol

Sample of my daily meals while taking Belviq
I am almost 8 weeks in on this weight loss journey with Belviq. In the beginning you may remember me stating that I could barely get in 700 calories a day. It is still the same struggle to get it all in with 3 meals a day.
I start my morning off with 1 piece of whole wheat toast. I normally do not put anything on it - no spreads at all. However, my friend in California makes the most WONDERFUL jam. I am ordering the sugar free one they just came out. Stay tuned for a blog and details so you can enjoy!. I also eat a great portion of fruit. On the weekend, when I have a little more time in the morning, I try to get protein in by eating an egg. I am not an oatmeal person and I do not like milk. Getting my dairy and grains in are so difficult and I struggle with that.
Mid morning I usually have a banana to help with my potassium. That' about all I can tolerate because I am always full on just one piece of toast and fruit.
When I am working, I usually just have a sandwich for lunch with a healthy side of veggies or fruit. I don't put dressing on my sandwich. I always have a fresh slice of tomato on it and that acts as my spread in terms of not having such a dry sandwich. Again, whole wheat break, low fat cheese (one slice) and turkey or chicken breast. I always toast my sandwich to get the cheese to melt and then after I put on the tomato. SO good.
By the time lunch is over, I can't even see or smell food because I am full. When I get home, I cook a more substantial meal with usually chicken (hate fish), fresh vegetables or try to come up with something creative. I try my hardest to get to at least 1000 calories this way, but it is still a struggle.
Anyway, that's the day in the life of food with Belviq!!

Doughnuts anyone?
Good Monday morning everyone!
One of my biggest weaknesses is Doughnuts. On my way to work every day, I pass by several doughnut shops with 2 being really convenient. But every day I just keep my car on the left lane so I can avoid that sudden right hand lane jerk my car tends to make. This morning, as I was pulling out of the apartment complex, the staff at Camden Whispering Oaks Apartments had a table set up with these lovely little bags........
It's not like there is a left lane I can pull over to avoid them. And, the staff had such a great awesome cheerful smile, who wouldn't want to pull over, have a doughnut and some juice and talk about the beautiful blue skies. Every car in front and behind me stopped. They took a picture and everyone seemed happy. Me, on the other hand, like Scrooge at Christmas, I just waved as fast as I could and kept on driving. Hey, at least I had my windows down!!!! And yes, I could SMELL THE DOUGHNUTS!!
Actually, it wasn't really hard at all. Belviq has really curved my desire for sweets. I can't tell you the last time I had something sweet or sugary. Wait, yes I can! It was June 20th - the day before I started Belviq!!!
I want to thank Mary and the gang at Camden Whispering Oaks for being thoughtful this morning to the residents. Most importantly, they are following my blog so they totally understand why I wouldn't stop haha.
I hope everyone taking Belviq can appreciate the will power that Belviq will help you gain. Really pay attention to it. It gives you more motivation just realizing that for once, you are in control.
Have a fabulous day!!

Need a Belviq provider in Iowa ASAP
I received this plead for help
"Ellie, Ellie, Ellie, I need your help. I just had a complete physical in preparation to trying Belviq. My doctor won't prescribe it and treated me with disgust for even asking. Then I started calling clinics and physicians in central IOWA only to be turned down and treated with disdain. I know you have bloggers from all over the world. Certainly there must be some in IOWA"
If you know anyone who is prescribing Belviq in Iowa (Preferrably Central Iowa), please comment ASAP with Physician Name and phone number. Let's get this person on Belviq!!!!

My story pitch to Ellen about Belviq
Did I inspire you in any way????
They are looking for people to submit about an inspiring person you may know. I don't want to submit myself ha. Please pas this link around and try to get people to write a short submission. Maybe she'll pick me to get on the Ellen Show and talk about Belviq I am going to ask those also who I've inspired to lose weight. here is the direct link
ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have NO TOLERANCE for people making fun of others because of their weight!!!!!
So, there's an article about a woman in the local news that is being sought out because she punched a 1 year child in the face. That's absolutely HORRIBLE. She should be arrested and punished for that. But if you bring up the article at http://www.click2houston.com/news/babysitter-wanted-for-punching-toddler-in-the-face/-/1735978/21402718/-/9xy72k/-/index.html you will see a photo of her and she is obviously obese. Scroll to the very bottom where people are making comments - turning this in all about her weight. I can not stand idiots. It's ok to be angry because of what she did, it's not ok to attack because she is obese. I am HIGHLY offended and this really really upset me because I KNOW I receive a lot of jokes because of my weight.
Stop and think about me, ELLIE WENKER, next time you want to make a fat joke please!!

Bevliq + KickStarter60
Good Friday Morning everyone!!! I am so glad it is the end of the week FINALLY. I won't be doing any posts over the weekend as I will be out of town. So, you get a 2 day break from me!! YAY!!!!
I officially it 30,000 Views on my blog. That is NUTS but exciting. I can't wait to hit 50,000 - Celebrate that and 50 pounds lost hopefully!!!
Today, my "virtual dietitian" through KickStarter60 did an online blog / short interview about how the program is working for me and my challenges. As you all know, diet and exercise is EXTREMELY important when taking Belviq. Belviq is not the simple fix alone. If you aren't willing to change your diet, once you lose weight, you will gain it all back from the poor eating habits.
Many out there talk about Belviq + Phen combination. I hear a lot about it. But, I do not here where there is a dietary adjustment or change while on Belviq. If you are like me, after years of eating bad (almost a lifetime), your brain is programmed for those exact foods. So, it's important to partner up with either a Nutritionist and/or Dietitian to make sure you are getting the right foods in the right proportions. Belviq can make your eating almost non-existent but that isn't the healthiest for your body - you still have to eat!
So, consider KickStarter60 as a compliment to Belviq. Belviq + KickStarter60 will keep you on the right path to a healthier lifestyle. Trust me, KickStarter60 is not expensive at all - VERY affordable. Meal planning and daily emails to help you think about your eating options. Plus, Mindy is so incredibly nice. I think you would just love her! :)

All over the world with Belviq
I checked on my stats today and I always like look at the location from which my followers view my blog. I have views from pretty much all over the world: Norway, Denmark, Japan, Germany, Spain, Cayman Islands, UK, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, India, Canada - that was just in the last day! HA! Wow, international following is really pretty awesome.
Tomorrow I finish week 7. Not a lot had really happened this week. I go do my weigh in every 2 weeks so that will be next week. A lot of people ask if I have a co-morbid condition such as diabetes or high blood pressure. I don't actually have any of that. I do have high cholesterol which I don't take medication for because I am stubborn. So, hopefully next week I will get my cholesterol levels checked and hopefully with Belviq and my diet changes, they will have come down on their own. If not, I will agree to take meds. SO FINGERS CROSSED..........
I wanted to update on my blog about one of my Belviq followers who is taking Belviq herself. Julie is one that had the same primary physician as I to prescribe Belviq. That doctor flew the coup so we both were caught without a doctor. I found one for both of us pretty quick. She went to go get her RX today and is happy to announce that she has lost 15 pounds. I am so proud of her!!!! She lives in Houston as I do and hopefully one day we will get to meet in person!!!! GOOOO JULIE!!!!
Have a great evening!!!!

Investor Village and Donations - THANK YOU
Yesterday was one of those days when I really felt the love and support by so many I have never met. I continue to get words of encouragement. I had two people who donated to me. With their donations I am able to get my next RX of Belviq that due soon as well as I have some towards September. I am truly, thankful. The RX is not covered by insurance and is pretty costly for my extremely tight budget. But, if need be, I will sacrifice. I have already tried trimming expenses to help. The cost of eating healthier is more as well. I am trying to buy as much organic, fresh fruits and vegetables as possible. God is good and I really THANK BOTH of you for yesterday!!!!! One guy is "Jake" He's publically spoke about donating so I don't mind sharing his first name. The 2nd guy hasn't been public so I will keep his name private out of respect.
As I have previously Stated, I can see where the traction is coming from to get to my website. A lot of times, it's an investor type website. I can click on the links and read what is said, but I am not able to post or anything. This has been fun over the last few weeks to read - people I have never met talking about me!!
Last night, when I got home, I got an email from the administrator of one of the websites. His name is Blue. He set me up a user name and password. Then, he told me someone paid for me to have a premium membership. I was SHOCKED. I am so happy because now I can go in and post replies directly and get my story out from my mouth (or hands).
The website is Investor Village - www.investorvillage.com Go check it out. Specifically go to ARNA and that's where you will see all of the activity about Arena Pharmaceuticals and Belviq and ME! :)
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!
I'll do a normal posting later - I just wanted to take a few minutes to thanks these wonderful men!

Belviq Patients
Good Morning everyone! I can't believe we are already well in to August! It's already proving to be a hot and steamy month here in Houston! We have had a heat advisory for a few days. I guess that means I will spend more time in the pool to cool off!
I changed my blog just a bit. I added some tabs where it's easier to find things. Let me introduce you to a few key tabs:
First is the Belviq Patients Tab. I am following about 5 or 6 other Belviq patients who just started in the last month or so. All have great results thus far. Most are in align with my numbers as well. I will periodically update so keep check back for those updates. You can go directly by clicking here:
http://www.belviqdaily.blogspot.com/p/other-belviq-patients.html
The Second one is for my weigh ins. It's the videos people claim they enjoy watching to see my progress.
http://www.belviqdaily.blogspot.com/p/video-weigh-in.html
How about some before and after pictures. This is a great way to see the slow transition to my desired goal:

And, let's not forget about all of the wonderful people who are blogging or writing about my progress as well:
http://www.belviqdaily.blogspot.com/p/we.html
Also, pay attention to the ads on my blog. If you see an ad that interests you, then click on the ad and go check it out. You never know what you may find and I also get a little extra as well. There are great companies with great products. All of this is helping me pay for my Belviq. I made through donations and ads exactly enough to pay for my August Belviq. I am hoping the ads alone with help me pay for September and not rely on other assistance.
Have a great hump day!

I had a great weekend and I hope all of you did as well. Tomorrow, I will be highlighting a few of my Belviq followers currently taking Belviq. Most started about when I did. I wanted to give you all their "check in" as well (previous blogged about them). They are all doing so well!
Anyway, today, I just wanted to share my 6 week photo. I didn't get a chance to getting it taken Friday so here it is! And, I OFFICIALLY lost 25 pounds - no variables ha!
Thanks Britton for taking this picture for me! :)

Is Eating out challenging on Belviq?
Good Saturday evening everyone. Sorry my post is so late for a Saturday. I had a fun day which brings me to this particular blog post. So, one of my brother's birthday was this week. My dad and my other brother live about 2 hours away so we decided to meet 1/2 way for lunch. Most of my family is relatively thing, so picking places that are healthy are not as much as important to them as it is me! Then after that I spent the afternoon with a very good friend who was in town from Mississippi with her husband and mom - all who are like family to me. We went to dinner, and of course, you got to go where you know they would love to eat right? Hospitality? So as I anticipate both events this week, I become a bit nervous as to how I will handle temptation.
I try no to eat out much to avoid temptation. Not that I feel any particular temptation or craving, I just like to eat freshly prepared home cooked foods. The Kickstarter60 program helps me with more creative meals, outside of the box. So the big question is, what am I to order???
For lunch today, I ordered the vegetable plate. It was actually a rather easy choice. I was surprised that I didn't even wander my eyes over to the "other side" (of the menu). I stayed focused. I was SHOCKED to learn that not only did it come with a salad, I had to chose 4 sides. So, my sides were, green beans, broccoli, corn, and red beans and rice. When I got my food, it was SOO MUCH food. So, I hate a good majority of my salad (LOVE salads) and then I basically took a few bites of every vegetable so I could get a taste of everything. There was enough there for 3 meals for me ha! Belviq really keeps that fullness feeling and it is wonderful to not devour my entire plate.
My brothers and dad had chips, queso, and salsa. I did not eat one chip. Honestly, I really wasn't interested. GO BELVIQ!
For dinner, my friends wanted Seafood. I ordered the shrimp salad and it was really good with the grilled shrimp on a fresh bed of lettuce and vegetables. I did eat all of my shrimp, but once again, I couldn't eat all of my salad.
Other than spending a WONDERFUL day with great friends, the best part of the day was when this one guy, who doesn't know me from adam but knows my one friend, said, "you look hot" (I was in a cute dress that I haven't been able to wear in years). Also, my dad said he really could tell I lost weight. So, for once, it is my heart that is full!!
Remember - tomorrow is my day off from blogging. See you all Monday in print! HA!

HA!

6 week weigh in results
Are you ready????? Here we are. Starting weight was 293. 2 weeks ago I was at 275 at 18 pounds lost with belviq. Today, I am at........well, watch for yourself!!
That's right folks, I met my weigh in goal to BE UNDER 270 pounds!!!!!! I am at 269.8 (BARELY but we will take it) for a totally weight loss of 23.2 pounds. But, it's really a little lower as you heard us talk about my dress .
We did confirm that the dress I am wearing, because of the material, weighed 1.5 pounds. So technically, I am down to 268.3ish pounds for a total loss of 24.7 pounds but I couldn't video myself in the nude HAHA!
Actually, I am claiming the 24.7 pounds - rounding to 25 pounds. We verified that the dress is heavy (ruffles made with extra fabric) and it was a poor choice on my end - next time I will know.
SO you can take the official or the unofficial. I mean, by the end of the weekend I'd be at the 25 anyway hahahaha!
For me, I met TWO of my goals: 1, under 270 and 25 pounds lost. 1/2 There to my bigger goal of 50 pounds. I AM SOOOOO excited!!!!! ALL in 6 WEEKS.

clarification
I saw a post on investervillage.com about they thought I lived in Humble and I am having to drive far for RX. NO. That's someone else and we found a dr. closer for her. I actually live and work VERY close to the dr. mentioned - Dr. Sally Thomas. Just for clarification if someone can post a reply to the "Twitter" message on the site (I am not a member). Thanks
New Dr. - Highly recommended
I have the name of a great doctor in Houston who is actively prescribing Belviq. Her name is Dr. Sally Thomas. I am so excited. I have my appointment set up for August 13th as she is on vacation. This works out great for me!!! I am so excited!!!
Tomorrow is my 6 week weigh in, Which will be on video and posted tomorrow. Meanwhile - I put a pull up over there on the right hand side. Let's see what the masses thing! Go ahead, be brave, make your choice!!!
I was speaking to the local Eisai rep today. I was completely humbled when she told me that the Humble rep had stopped by a local family practice and the 2 nurses both have heard of me and my blog!! A similar encounter for the Eisai NOLA rep. BLESSED that I am making a statement.
I WANT the word out - I want to educate and change lives just like mine is being changed, one little blue pill at a time!!!!!!!
Share my story with anyone. Any Eisai rep can use me as a tool - PERFECLY FINE. I want to bring the same joy to others as I have found!

EISAI ROCKS - I think we found a provider
I just heard from my local Eisai Rep. She's going to be calling me tonight to give me some information on providers in the Houston area that prescribe Belviq. So that will soon solve my issue as well as another local person hopefully. EISAI ROCKS!!!!!!!! And so does Leighann!!!!
We're still waiting to hear from the Miami are rep - I think they actually already have the physician contact information and they are just trying to get a visit it.
These Eisai reps are EXTREMLY busy trying to get the word out to these physicians. I appreciate everything they do for everyone.
I'm doing my 6 week weigh in Friday. Are you excited???????? I'm NERVOUS. I "HOPE" for 2 things: 1, I hope to break under the 270 mark. If I do that, it will be the first time in over 5 years since I was under 270. and 2, I hope to have lost at least 25 pounds total. Why? It's the 1/2 mark of my short term 50 lb goal. It will mean SO much to do that.
I made a deal with those that I went to high school with. Our 25 year reunion is this year. Now, if you haven't already read my story, you will see here at

http://marketplayground.com/2013/07/29/arena-pharmaceuticals-inc-nasdaqarna-and-anti-obesity-drug-belviq-the-eillie-wenker-story/ that my years in junior high and high school were very painful. I didn't go to any other reunion. But, I told the girls planning the reunion that if I lost 50 pounds by October, I would go. CRAZY? Why yes! But I can do it because I still have 2.5 months to get it done and I KNOW I can do it. Let's do the math, if I lose 2 pounds a week, its literally 12 weeks from now. That's 24 pounds. So, it can be done in a very healthy manner. PLUS, one of the girls on the planning committee, Ashley (Dill) Martin, was the homecoming queen - a very beautiful person inside and out. We have gotten to know each other more over that year or so. I told her that if I come, I WANT A CROWN!!!!! Let's see if it happens. I'll of course get that on video hahaha

Physician lack of knowledge on Belviq
Today I was trying to help out 2 separate people who are desperately trying to find physicians who will prescribe Belviq. One is looking for a family member in the Miami area. His doctor wouldn't prescribe Bevliq because they had never heard of it and wanted to "research" it.
The 2nd actually used my primary doctor. That Doctor left the practice and now we BOTH are in the same shoes. She lives a little further out so I am hoping to find her a doctor in Humble. I will use my personal contact at my orthopedics' office to try to try to find one local.
We need these doctors educated ASAP!!!!! There so few Belviq pharma reps that they are already stretched thin. They are wonderful! Hopefully my local Belviq rep will respond to my email asking for local resources. The one girl - her trial ended today and lost 9 pounds and she doesn't want to go long without! I need my RX refill Friday!!!!!!!!!
FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Belviq won't let you cheat - much!!
So last night was going to be my first official major cheat day since starting Belviq. Epic failure! I had a couple drinks and me and the bestie decided to go eat a late late dinner. By the time my food made it to my table, I couldn't even eat. I was like, blech! YAY!!! ha!
I haven't had ANY appetite today! I've had somewhat of an emotional day. Without going in to details, usually when I have the exact kind of day like today, I BINGE eat like crazy. Belviq effected me the complete opposite!
I believe the article about my story will be published early next week. I will let you know when I find out and of course, post the link so you can read it!!! It's well worth the read!!
Also, Friday will be my 2 week weigh in! Are you ready??????? Sooooo excited.
This will be short as I am emotionally exhausted. Tomorrow is my blogging day off. See you all on Monday!!

19,000 Views & Eisai
I started this blog one month ago with nothing more in mind than to tell my story and my struggles and have family/friend support. It blossomed almost immediately!! As a result, I have many other Belviq patients, both who have been on for a bit or how are just 1 or 2 days in, posting messages and we are all able to support each other. I also have had contact with a few Eisai pharmacy Sales reps who are inspired by my story. Hopefully I can be an inspiration through them for many other doctors as they get the word out about this new RX. One said they even talked about me during a team conference call. I feel BLESSED beyond words. They are all so wonderful so.....
GO Team Eisai! (Sorry, I had to give a shout since they are always so kind). So any of you doctors out there, please welcome these wonderful people with open arms and ask them what took them so long!!!!!!
I had the most delicious Salad today. Mixed greens with some spinach (I don't like cooked spinach, but it was good in my salad in mild portions), yummy vinaigrette dressing, and tomatoes it may sound plain to you, but with EVERYTHING so fresh, it was absolutely delicious! Plus, I have a save a few calories because our office is having a happy hour tonight. I am the HR Manager so I have to be there. Suggestions on a low calorie adult beverage? I only can have one with my diet to stay with my portion control and too keep focus on the prize. So suggest away!!
Next Friday will be my 6 week weigh in. I am excited and nervous as always. So get ready for that.
Also, early next week, my story will be published in an article format. I will give you details when I know when, etc. I have already previewed it and I have to say, brought me sadness and happiness all at the same time. I want ALL of my readers to read my story and get to know me and how I came to where I am today!!! Stay tuned!!
Ok, well, happy hour is in a few hours, so I need suggestions ASAP. Ready, Set, SUGGEST...............

A big Ooooooops
I forgot to post yesterday. Yesterday was a very busy day at work and then I went to dinner with a friend. I TOTALLY forgot about you guys - ooooops sorry.
Anyway, yesterday I sort of cheated, but Belviq would not let me cheat much. For Dinner, I ordered a salad with steak and my friend ordered a 1/2 order of a blooming onion as an appetizer. Now, if you don't know Outback Steakhouse and what a Blooming onion is, it's an onion creatively sliced (but not separated) and coated in a batter and deep fried. You tear off pieces and dip in a sauce. We ordered the smaller size - which is called pedals, and it is all separated because it's not a full onion. That was my cheat. HA! But with Belviq, I wasn't able to eat much at all. So, I got to taste a little "fun" fried food but not gorge myself.
As fun as that was, it was WAY to rich for me. I had a very ugly tummy all night!! My tummy said, "Hey, that's a no go". So, I probably won't do that again. I like that though because it is reminding me that I want good foods.
This goes to say that Belviq is not for those who do not intend to have a complete lifestyle change in the way they eat. For some, that little amount probably wouldn't have hurt, but because I have been so committed and not cheated even once since starting, my body is completely against all of that "ugly" food. Yes, it went from fun food to ugly food really fast HA!
Tomorrow night is our company's happy hour. I do not intend on drinking at all. I am sure that if my tummy can't handle a little fried food, that it will balk at the fact of having alcohol ha! I don't plan on staying long at all!!!
Anyway, Happy Thursday!

was a little worried
I learned over a few days that there is a difference to feeling hungry and your tummy growling. Every now and then, I "thought" I was feeling hungry. I was a little worried at first like "Am I already building tolerance to Belviq?" What I very fastly discovered was that my tummy was growling and when I would eat, I still couldn't eat much at a sitting. So, that told me 2 things: 1, the Belviq is still very much working effectively as it should and 2, that my tummy is still adjusting to the much smaller amounts of food vs. almost quadruple the amount at a serving. So, your tummy growls because its just not used to the little amount.
This is only occasional but what I find helpful is eating fruit or vegetables for a small snack and my tummy is happy and so am I.
So for those just starting on Belviq, don't get alarmed if this is happening to you. It's a good thing. You not only have to train your mind to eat better, but you have to train your tummy to the new way of food digestion. It took us years to get to where we are today, so be patient with yourself.
I'm still losing and still excited. I'm not posting an official weigh in until August 2nd which is 2 weeks after my 4 week weigh in. Because I use my doctors scale and we video it, I want to keep the integrity. It's so easy to say, "Oh, I lost 25 pounds" but with the amount of followers on my blog, I have to have the back up so NO ONE can say, "Oh, she really didn't lose it" or say "she's being paid to blog".
I'm also enjoying my subscription to emails, meal planning, tips, etc. from KickStarter60. If you haven't tried it, you should. Even if you don't have much to lose or lose any at all, it is really a great tool to help you keep in line nutritionally. www.kickstarter60.com
I hope you all have a wonderful day!

A few Belviq patients....
Hello Everyone, I decided to today a vacation day from work. I have a few things I had to take care of and I couldn't get them done on a weekend and my calendar was really pretty light, I figured this was the perfect day to do it. Now I am just chilling.
I wanted to introduce you to a few Belviq patients that has friended me on Facebook. For now, I will only share their first name until I get formal permission to use other data. I want you to follow them through me as I will hopefully keep posting about their progresses as well.
Meet Amy,
Amy is from Illinois and she just finished her 15 day trial yesterday. She reports that she has lost 11 pounds during the trial and seems to be pretty pumped up!! That is so great and seems to be in alignment with my weight loss during my trial period around about 2 pounds. She just picked up here 30 day script and, with the coupon, had to pay $155 because her insurance is not covering yet. She isn't letting that be an obstacle, but she has expressed that she would like her physician write in to see about getting an exception aka an appeal.
Meet Cecelia
Cecelia is from the great state of Colorado. I LOVE Colorado and I have met so many from that wonderful state. That just says, she's wonderful right? She just finished day 4 on Belviq and is diabetic. On day 4, she reported her daily blood sugar result was a 97, which she has not seen that low since she became diabetic. I think that is really really awesome. She seems to be really excited.
These are just two of the many people I have friended online taking Belviq. There will be more to come. I will do check ins so you can read about their progress as well!!!!
That's it for today - it's a vacation day for me so I am going to do something productive to not waste the day!!
I would like to end this with a quote from Santos who is on day 12 with Belviq: "Remember, the fork is not a shovel" LOL I LOVE IT

Short and Sweet
Hi everyone - today was a bum kind of Saturday. I hung out with my best friend and went looking around for ideas to decorate, etc. I'm wanting to do something for my dinning table I won in February - it needs color but right money is obviously tight but hopefully before Christmas I can budget some fun stuff. It was a great day. I kind of cheated (SHHHH) and ate Mexican food BUT, I did eat a Taco salad minus the shell and ate about 4 bites. That was how I cheated - all that cheese and dab of sour cream. Shame on me! ha - actually, I just ate literally about 4 or 5 bites and I was like blah...... (I had some salsa and chips too ha). Anyway, My blog has over 16,000 views. I am so happy I have so many interested in my progress. I did make it to the grocery store to get a few things for meals. Tomorrow, I am going to make a homemade rub for some chicken breast and I am going to bake it wrapped up in tin foil so all of the juices can just stay within. Mmmmm. I went to the farmers market so I have fresh home grown green beans to make. I also am cooking asparagus, but not for this meal, I want to have it for a salad on Monday. I plan on dicing up the chicken that is left over for a really good salad with Asparagus and a homemade vinaigrette dressing. I also got some fresh peaches, grapes, and apples. I LOVE FRUITS AND VEGGIES!!!!!!!!! Why am I so fat??? Oh yeah, I LOVE SWEETS haha. But I don't eat them anymore. I have zero desire for cake or anything like that. Thanks BELVIQ!!!!!!! Tomorrow is my day off from blogging. I hope you have are having a fantastic weekend!!! xoxox Ellie

BCBS-TX, and the fight begins.....
So, My broker put me in contact with an employee in the small group department at BCBS because I want to file an appeal. She's is saying basically that all fully insured contracts with BCBS has this limitation and exclusion and that it will basically be denied (my appeal).
We went back and forth for a bit. She had already told me this last week, but my purpose in the email was to find out how to file an appeal. So here we go again. I basically said:
We went back and forth for a bit. She had already told me this last week, but my purpose in the email was to find out how to file an appeal. So here we go again. I basically said:
"I want to appeal even if it is denied because I want to bring awareness. I fought Aetna in 1998 when they didn’t want to cover a reconstructive surgery because it was excluded. I won. I’m not saying I will win this one, but I will shake some shoes just so they can review for future years – especially with Obesity being classified as a disease. Since that became official, then insurance really does not have the right to exclude it – just like any other disease. So, I want to try to make a difference."
I am not sure if she realized that when I get determination, I can rest until someone wins. I may not win, but I will never know if I do not try right?
So my question is to some of you who have been studying the recent obesity news where the AMA officially classified obesity as a disease: How will this affect health Insurance? If Alcoholism is a disease and just about every carrier out there covers it, should obesity be covered? AND, what about with Obama care? How will that impact it. I want to talk smart in my appeals letter so ANYONE who can provide helpful tips please post or email me at ellie.wenker@gmail.com
Thanks so much!!
Here we go, are you ready for a rodeo?????

The day before and the 30 day script
Well, tomorrow is the day!!! The day I will do my official 1 month weigh in! I am so excited and nervous at the same time. So in true Ellie style, it will be recorded!!!!! I am so excited!!!!
What I want to do is have a little fun. Please comment below and let me know what you think the TOTAL weight loss is. (Remember, at 2.5 I was at 13 pounds). Some aren't able to post for some weird reason, If you can't, go to my face book page https://www.facebook.com/BelviqDailyPersonal to reply to my recent post!!
Tuesday I officially started with kickstarter60. www.kickstarter60.com It's a virtual dietician that gives you menus, and get this - prepares your shopping list. I already have the first weeks menus. I plan to go through it Saturday and go grocery shopping. I'll have to make minor tweaks because I do not like fish and I HATE oatmeal with a passion. The smell gags me. The menus are loaded with a ton of other things. It's just a foundation to help me get in the right mind set in terms of good nutrients. Go check out the site. It's beyond affordable. It's about a buck a day for 60 days. They have a free trial. I am blessed to have family who stepped up and helped me get the program!!!!
I will get my full 30 day refill of Belviq on Friday. For the first time I can get then entire 30 days vs. a week at a time. I have the $75 dollar off coupon (WHICH HELPS) and I got enough in donations to help with the difference but about $10 bucks. It's awesome and I THANK EVERYONE who helped contribute and support me and my goals to a healthier lifestyle.
I am in process of filing an appeal with BCBS-TX for coverage of Belviq. The Eisai website gave instructions on how to do it. HOPEFULLY I will be able to get the exception and get it approved!!! I am a loud person (you all probably noticed already I am vocal) and I will not stop. Not just for me, but for everyone else who can find hope in Belviq!!!
Tune in tomorrow for another great weigh in episode!!!!

Non Belviq related struggle today
What happens when you eat realy really fast on a tummy that's used to getting very little at a time? Let me put it this way without being too graphic. Remember when I said that I feel like those that had the lap band surgery where I feel full really fast. They are not really able to eat fast either and they have to avoid certain foods to prevent them from being sick. One of my co-workers can not eat lettuce who had the band done a year ago. Too much lettuce makes her ill.
I typically don't eat a lot of lettuce either - I like a salad with all of the fresh vegetables minus the lettuce, although I will eat it occassionally. Today we had a new employee start. One of the fun things about my job is getting to take new employees to lunch. Where I work, there's not a lot of choices in restaruants and we had two others join us, so we needed to go somewhere quick. We chose.....Olive Garden. Wait, don't start bashing at me yet about eating there. I chose to eat the salad only. No bread, no pasta, nothing than the salad. But we were in a hurry and we had to kind of eat fast. Needless to say, just like a person with the lap band, it didn't settle - AT ALL.
I'm letting the tummy settle down a bit and then I will try some grapes maybe. Oy! I told you guys I feel like I had that surgery without the pain and money involved.
On a brighter note, FRIDAY will mark 4 weeks since I started Belviq. Be on the lookout for my video of my 1 month weigh in!! Also, tomorrow night I meet up with my friend Pam, who took that picture that helped change my life. We are doing a re-do in the exact same spot!!!!!! I can't wait - so look for that one either tomorrow or Thursday.
On a side note - I need a personal trainer. The cost of Belviq is preventing me from obtaining one. If you are in the Houston area or if you know anyone in the Houston area who would be willing to help a girl out with personal training in exchange with free advertisement on my blog by either posting or letting me post about our journey with pictures and the contact information, please send me an email to ellie.wenker@gmail.com I DESPERATELY need help with this new challenge!!

Beginning my 4th week - still no side effects
So on Friday marks the completion of 4 weeks on Belviq. In true "Ellie Wenker" style, I will be doing my weigh in and recording it of course. I am excited about this weigh in! So be on the look out for it.
I got a little frustrated this weekend and almost deleted my blog with all the drama, but I chose to just get over it and move on. I have to remind everyone, I am in this for ME. I want to lose weight for myself.
Someone had offered to collect towards a goal met of 50 pound which would be a reward. This first 50 pounds will be an absolute milestone. Someone else suggested that the motivation takes away from Belviq and too much focus on the reward. That really hurt because it was describing me as money motivated. I will get to my 50 pound loss regardless. I felt rob of a victory and that was the sole reason I wanted to delete my blog. The person offering it was just trying to encourage me. So, we pulled the reward off the table because I was not about to allow people who do not know me to steal my thunder.
I saw where someone else said something like "She'll never be the face of Bevliq, get a start like Jenny McCartney to take Belviq". Well, that person isn't very smart because Jenny M does not meat the criteria. And 2nd I'm not trying to be the face of Belviq. I am trying to get my story out there so others can be motivated as well. If They call and ask, I'd probably say yes just to get my story out there and help other, not for fame".
Enough of that drama! So far I am doing very well with Belviq. I still have no side effects. I've gotten the nutrition routine down and other than tat one day with muscle cramps, I am still doing great!! In fact, all my labs are PERFECT so I just continue to carry on.
Tomorrow I register with a virtual dietician Kickstarter60. I am really really excited to explore more options. Check her out at www.kickstarter60.com .
I want to thank everyone that has been encouraging me. It's really meant a lot, especially with all that negative talk about my journey out there. I took a risk and knew that would happen, I just expected more slams on my weigh vs. on the financial side.
Thanks everyone!

Financial Options for Belviq
There are resources for EVERYONE to afford Belviq so don't let it not being covered on your insurance or having no insurance to hold you back!! I am so excited about this information!
This was a great website resource that one of the Eisai pharmaceutical reps shared with me (Eisai is the company promoting Belviq for Arena Pharm). The website it: www.eisaireimbursement.com
If your plan does not cover Belviq yet (I say yet because more and more are starting to cover), here are some options to try to get approved for individual coverage:
How to Request a Non-Formulary Coverage Determination
Health plans may grant various types of exceptions to members. Members may receive coverage for BELVIQ® even if it is not on the formulary, health plans may waive coverage restrictions or limits and make an exception to cover the drug.
When requesting an exception, a statement from their prescriber must be submitted via fax or mail. The statement must explain the medical reasons for requesting an exception. Once a request is submitted, a decision is generally made within 72 hours of receiving the prescriber's supporting statement. Members can request an expedited (fast) exception if the prescriber believes that a patient's health could be seriously harmed by waiting up to 72 hours for a decision.
For more information on commercial payor-specific coverage of BELVIQ® patients should contact the member services department at their health plan.
Patient Assistance Program
Eisai reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to discontinue the Patient Assistance Program or change the qualifications at any time. All patient information remains confidential. Product supply for the program depends upon availability.

- If the request is expedited and granted, the health plan usually gives a decision no later than 24 hours after receiving prescriber's supporting statement.
- If the decision is not in member's favor, the health plan will send a written statement with explanation and how to appeal the decision
- To download a general form that may be used to request coverage for BELVIQ® for a patient for a product that is not on formulary, please click here. Please note that some payors may not accept requests for coverage that are submitted on forms that have not been approved by their specific plan.
- If you need additional assistance obtaining a payor's specific requirements for requesting coverage for BELVIQ®, please call the Eisai Assistance Program at 1-866-61-EISAI or click here to obtain a Statement of Medical Necessity form. Once completed, please fax it to the Eisai Assistance Program. A representative will initiate research into the specific requirements of your patient's insurance to obtain coverage.
Appeal Request
An appeal is a request to change a previous adverse decision made by health plan. A representative/prescriber or patient may appeal the adverse decision related to coverage. The prescriber will need to provide a reason why he/she believes the adverse coverage decision was incorrect and what the expected outcome should be. Along with the request form, supporting documentation may include previous medical necessity-related denials, the patient's medical records, and documentation from the healthcare professional or facility.Payor Reimbursement
Commercial payor pharmacy reimbursement for BELVIQ® is variable and dependent on the pharmacy's contract with the payor. Most commercial payors base payment on Average Wholesale Price (AWP) or Wholesale Acquisition Cost (WAC). Payments may or may not include a dispensing fee per fill. For more information on commercial payor-specific coverage of BELVIQ® patients should contact the member services department at their health plan.
Patient Assistance Program
What is the Eisai Patient Assistance Program?
Eisai has created the Eisai Patient Assistance Program (EPAP) for customers who need assistance paying for BELVIQ®. The Eisai PAP provides Eisai medicines at no or low cost to financially needy patients who meet program eligibility criteria.About the Program
Depending on your financial situation and clinical status, resources may be available to help with your costs for BELVIQ®. Patients, family members, advocates or case managers can call The Eisai Primary Care Assistance Program at 1-866-61-EISAI (1-866-61-34724) to apply to determine if you are eligible for the EPAP for BELVIQ®. The hours of operation are 8 AM to 8 PM ET, Monday through Friday.Eisai reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to discontinue the Patient Assistance Program or change the qualifications at any time. All patient information remains confidential. Product supply for the program depends upon availability.
Information Needed For the Application
The Statement of Medical Necessity, insurance information, financial documentation, the signature of the prescribing healthcare professional, and the patient's signature are required for the form to be considered complete. Tomato Vegetable Soup - only 100 calories per serving!
Ingredients:
2 cans of diced tomatoes (I used Hunts that said "Diced Tomatoes in Sauce"
1 small box of Tomato bisque starter Soup. (found in the broth isle
...
2 cans of chicken broth (or use alternative for vegan/vegetarians
1 chopped onion (I used white onions)
2 bags of your favorite froze vegetables (I used a stir fry mix with green beans, sugar snap peas, water chestnuts, yellow squash, and broccoli
1 tsb Extra virgin olive oil
I cooked the chopped onions a little bit in the EVOO and added basil, pepper, salt, and garlic seasoning for taste. I add the diced tomatoes and the tomato bisque starter and let those all cook on medium high heat to a boil. I turn up on high and add the chicken broth and the vegetable and cook to a good boil and quickly reduce to heat to simmer (or low) and cover and just let it cook for about an hour just to let all of the flavors blend into the vegetables. This entire LARGE pot made was about 1000 calories for the entire thing. So, split it up to individual servings, it could be anywhere from 100 to 200 calories!!
Add Chicken or Beans for protein if desired. I think this would be a PERFECT starter to ANY dish!!

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
I would love for a lazy day, but I just have way too much to do. My dad will include menu planning for the week, grocery shopping, cooking a few meals, and CLEANING my dirty apartment. I've ignored it all week. I also will get in some pool time first and maybe some treadmill time. BORING!!
So, last night my friend Ashley invited me to an impromptu dinner. We met at a Mexican restaurant - I know, not the best choice right? Well, I think it worked out very well for me. They had a grilled fajita chicken salad. I was thinking it was a taco salad with a shell and all. I was really surprised that it did not come with a shell. It had kind of on the side the cheese, sour cream and guacamole. I am not a fan of guacamole, so I gave it to Ash. I mixed the chicken up with the salad mixings and added a pinch of cheese and not even a half of spoon of sour cream. I honestly didn't even think about it, but I just did it in the health way. Of course I didn't eat all of it - about half maybe. It was so good. (Now, I did have chips and salsa - salsa is something I actually crave - I crave tomatoes ha).
Belviq Rocks! That's it in a Taco Shell!!!

Happy Friday!!!
Hi everyone!
It's Friday - what can be better than that? I am looking forward to the weekend. I plan on doing some menu planning and a little cooking for the week. I am also going to get some swimming in!!!! I love to swim and I want to get more work done on my tired limbs that support this big body of mine!! So, water will accomplish that.
My bestie Ashley and I are talking about doing a trip next May to Cancun or somewhere like that. I have never been anywhere like that ever. I hardly get out of Houston, let alone Texas. I kind of got excited thinking how GREAT I will look next May. Hopefully my tax refund will be enough to cover it!!!! YAY so excited!!!
Ok, so last night on the radio talk show was unreal. I am truly humbled, overwhelmed (in a good way) and inspired to push through. This was really the magic I needed to keep motivated, to keep pushing through. Thanks Spencer and Demian for being such kind hosts. It was a lot of fun. My friends all listened in. Today, when I got to work, one of my co-workers said the moment I walked in the door, "Can I just give you a hug?" Caught off guard for sure, but it was so sweet. She said that I truly was inspiring to her and she also wanted to just lose 10 pounds that would make her feel so much better.
I posted the archive at the top right for everyone to listen too. It is two hours long. You can go on the website and download it at: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/playgroundradio/2013/07/12/arena-pharmaceuticals-belviq-the-ellie-wenker-story
I want to thank Pam Skaar and Karen Mann for texting me and encouraging me through out the show and for Karen calling in. It made me tear up!! I love both of those women and their husbands for believing in me and encouraging me.
So, what's on the menu today? I am craving fresh veggies. So for lunch I will have assorted fresh raw veggies. Sounds boring, but I just can't get enough. I am also going to have a chicken breast plain for a hair of protein. Haven't decided dinner yet. We'll see what I'll cook up, maybe post a picture!!!!
Follow me on twitter @ewenker and on my facebook fan page Belviq Daily Personal. Thanks so much for believing in me. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!

ORIGINAL POST:
I just realized that I forgot to post yesterday to the blog. Oooops - sorry. I've been pretty busy at work and then an impromptu dinner with a friend last night. It was tempting to order something really sinful off of the menu!!! Everything looked so darn yummy! But, I settled for a veggie plate - it comes with a side dinner salad, and 4 veggie sides. I am GLAD I picked that, it was soooooo good. I was not able to eat it all, so I got a to go box and I will have it today for lunch.
I need to get back into my workout routine. I haven't done the treadmill since Sunday and I feel it for sure. So tonight - it is on!!!
Also tonight I will be on a Blog Talk Radio segment through Play Ground Radio. It is hosted by Demian Russian and Spencer Osborne. I will get more information on how you can listen live with the opportunity to call in and ask questions. I am pretty excited. I will post a new posting this afternoon with that information.
Please join in and listen if you can. It will be at 7:00 pm CST / 8:00 EST - more info will be posted shortly!
Happy Thursday!!!

2 week weigh in
I just got back from my 2 week weigh in.
A few things to note to my disadvantage:
1. My dr. thinks I am retaining water so I am starting a diuretic (I agree that I am!)
2. My first weigh in was at 7:30am. I weighed in at lunch time and it's documented that my weight fluctuates (a little more) as the day progresses.
3. Although not a "disadvantage", I am working out every day and building muscle now. So, even though I lose weight in fat, I may gain some of that back in muscle. That is ok with me.
I tell myself to not get hung up on the numbers. What matter is that my clothes are fitting SO MUCH BETTER!!!
Ok, so are you ready for the numbers? Have I set you up for a let down........lets see!
YAY!!!!!!! I am so happy with those numbers considering the disadvantages I had. I was shooting for 12 and I beat it by 1! Hyped!!!
I think this makes me an official responder??? I hope! 2 weeks in and 13 pounds down! Totally excited!
Be sure to follow me on facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/BelviqDailyPersonal?fref=ts
Every 100 likes will earn one person to tell me what to do on a workout!!! I'm at 165! I need more. I want to get the news out about Belviq!!!
The Weigh in..........
UPDATE - I WILL GET TO WEIGH IN SHORTLY!!!! They are heading back to the office - Don't mind the below - YAY!!!!!!!!!
Did not happen today - BOOOOOOO Karen texted me that they had a minor emergency (something like some cows got out at their ranch) and asked if I can do it tomorrow. Bad, bad cows! HA!
So, tomorrow - it is. Sigh, I was ALL psyched up and got all of my friends psyched up. I promise, one way or another, it WILL happen tomorrow. So keep posted.
Meanwhile - Thanks to those have donated. I'm very blessed. Hopefully I'll have enough to get my Belviq in 1 week and I'll share the excess with another Belviq user online who has already taken the 14 day trial and is currently on it as well. I want to make sure that users are legit and that they are dedicated!
Feel free to donate! Happy Tuesday. Tomorrow will be the big day!!!!

Obesity - a disease or not a disease, that's the question
On June 18, 2013, the American Medical Association (AMA) officially classified obesity as a disease. This news, of course, doesn't come without controversy as many do not view obesity as a disease, but more or less poor judgement in eating habits, etc.
Having been overweight my entire life, I have to agree that poor eating habits played into my obesity; however, uncontrollable medical circumstances is probably the major contributing factor in how it all spun out of control.
So, my biggest question is, what is the difference between alcoholism and obesity? In 1991, the AMA classified alcoholism as a disease and most major insurance has some level of coverage where, depending on the carrier, obesity has none. In 2011, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, approximately 10,228 fatalities were alcohol related. According to the National Institute of Health, more than 300,000 people die as a result to complications from obesity.
Here are the top 10 obesity related health problems:
1. High Blood Pressure
2. Diabetes
3. Heart Disease
4. High Cholesterol
5. Cancer
6. Infertility
7. Back Pain
8. Skin Infections
9. Ulcers
10. Gallstones
I can tell you from my own personal health, I have/had 4 of these and I am borderline for another 3!! If you think about the cost to treat each individual condition, not to mention 4, to me, it makes better sense to treat the underlying issue - obesity. If I take Belviq for 12 months, I figured the estimated cost (without insurance) would be about $2700. That cost is so much cheaper than even covering co-pays to the doctor, lap, and RX for high cholesterol for my entire life. It just makes sense.
The debate will always continue on if Obesity is a disease or not. But Obesity can LEAD to disease and that's never been debated.
I am going to do some reading and studying on this issue and figure out how to lobby for insurance to be mandated to cover the treatment of obesity. Maybe Obama care has it in there somewhere.
Let me know your thoughts on this issue........
NOTE: I've added a DONATION button on my blog. This is to help me pay for my belviq monthly since it is not covered by my insurance. Anything in excess is going to be donated to people who also can not afford it for the same reason or because they do not have insurance at all. I have been contacted by many wanting to know more information on if it is covered. If you know what insurance carriers are for sure covering it (or even not covering it) please let me know. Right now, BCBS-TX is NOT covering it.
